Community Outreach and Engagement Internship
About the Program
The Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention offers the Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) Internship as an experiential learning program in cancer-related COE. This paid internship, led by faculty and staff at the Ralph Lauren Center, is designed to provide immersive training in ongoing COE projects within the Lombardi Cancer Center catchment area. The six-week program includes activities related to patient navigation, cancer-focused outreach, and health education. This is an in-person internship, and trainees are expected to devote 20 hours per week, including participation in 3-4 outreach events that may occur on weekday evenings or weekends. The office operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please refer to the application below for the start and end dates of each internship cycle.

- Interns will spend time in each of the following focus areas:
Patient Navigation | Community Outreach | Development/Refinement of Educational Material | Exercise |

| Create customized reports using data management software to evaluate the impact of patient navigation. | Help identify and establish relationships with potential community partners. | Create educational development presentations for patient navigators for breast, lung, colorectal, and prostate cancer. | Learn and understand the various data collection methods used in clinical exercise research. |
- Interns will work closely with team members at the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention in each of the four focus areas.
- Upon completion of the program, students will receive a certificate for their internship experience.
